Frequently Asked Questions

faq

  • Do you have parts for legacy GMI equipment?

We always try to avoid obsolescence of spare parts, but sometimes it is unavoidable. GMI has secured supplies of most components for our legacy systems. We have limited supplies of certain Microcolor and Colorquick parts, so please contact us for availability.

  • Do you offer upgrades and/or sales of new systems?

Yes! For our legacy products, we have upgrade paths available to improve performance and ensure reliability of your systems. We also sell new systems to retrofit onto most press types (over 750 different press models have been equipped with GMI). Be sure to look at our SnapReg product, which allows automatic register control, cutoff control, and more.

  • Does GMI sell/service in my country?

GMI has a worldwide footprint, with direct sales/service in North America, South America, and Europe, plus distributors in Asia. We will provide service in any country except those where trade is prohibited by the US government. If you are based in a country far from our service people, an on-site service call may be expensive due to travel costs - but GMI will happily provide the best service possible via remote connection, to avoid those costs.

  • Where are your products made?

GMI proudly designs and manufactures our new systems, upgrades, and spare parts in the USA. We take supply chain security seriously, and select our vendors with reliability in mind.

  • Why should I pick GMI over another brand?

We believe you won’t find a higher quality product for the price. Our Mercury provides excellent accuracy with a blade and motor design that minimizes failures. Our Clarios is the only in-line measurement device that can provide a true spectral measurement on every scan. In all of our products, GMI seeks to be the market leader in quality and performance, while keeping prices affordable to our customers.
